Too Close to Home

I've heard that saying many times in my life but it never held as true as it did this weekend. Our neighbors experienced a tragic house fire this past Saturday morning. My husband has a post on his blog as well.

It has been a very traumatic time for all who witnessed and experienced it. Honestly, I haven't been able to blog since it happened, it's been too hard. I haven't been able to sleep very well either. I keep waking up with our friends on my mind and trying to think of ways that I can help them or thinking about what they are feeling and experiencing. I just can't imagine. Just standing there and watching that violent fire devour all that they worked so hard for. Their dreams, their memories, their hard work. Now, I know that it is a house and I thank God continually that the entire family was able to escape it. But, the reality is that there was a loss. I know that God can take any situation and bless it for His glory and I know He will do so here as well, it will also take some healing.

I'm rambling and I'm very random...sorry.

I guess the point of this post is to solicit prayer. Please pray for our friends. That God will supply their every need and that my family can be a blessing to them.

I am thankful for my church. They are putting together a care basket and I know if there is any need that I can call on them for help. Thanks Gracers, you're the best!

Be sure your sin will find you out.

We have a digital camera. I usually unload pictures once the camera is full, not after events. However, I file them on the computer by date. So if there is a span of days, weeks worth of pictures on the camera I don't file them right away. I dump them in a folder that I return to at a later date and then file. So, today as I was killing time and sorting my pictures from the past month I found these. Once I realized what they were, I laughed hysterically to tears.

Let me preface these pictures...my son is sneaky.

These pictures were taken from under our office chair where he was hiding while playing with our camera. Later, my husband and I asked him if he's been playing with our camera in the office. I think he realized he was caught and was ashamed. I don't know if his quietness was due to the shame of if he was trying really hard to figure out how we found out. I'm sure I'll never know.

Cheese Whiz

This is the part I probably dreaded the most about the process of becoming a realtor (after the licensing exam, of course). The cheesy realtor picture. I did try to talk my husband into creating a unique way to market myself without a picture...but he wouldn't budge. Not yet, at least. So, here I am in all my fakey, cheesiness for all to see. Ta da!

I had training everyday this week from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm. My poor body isn't used to it and I got a little sick by the end of the week. I did enjoy the training though. But that explains the lack of posts this week. I still have 3 more weeks of full day trainings (but this time only 3 days a week and not 5) so look for my blog to be slow.

Here is my R&N website.

Thanks for all of the support - you guys are awesome!!!

Yet another reason for happiness!

I'm in heaven! Tuesday night I tried something new...Your Other Kitchen. My friend, Kim, and I got there at 7 p.m. and by 9 p.m. I had 12 healthy family meals to throw into the freezer! SWEET! The price is very reasonable and I don't have to do any chopping, slicing or shopping. I show up, throw ingredients into a disposable container and slap a label on it. All of the ladies I met there had been repeat customers and said the meals were pretty good. Boy, I wish I would've known about this when I had newborns!
But, the timing is good. Next week I begin the last 30 hours of my realtor training and these will be during the day and I won't have time to cook dinner or energy. So, all I'll have to do is pull an item out of the freezer the night before and then put it in the oven when I get home. I'm very excited.
I would highly recommend looking for a similar company in your area and giving it a try.

Treats, treats and more treats

Power Ranger and Kim Possible
I felt safe going door to door this year!

Here Kim (AKA Kiersten) has her KP belt. She looked spiffy.
Joe, he was an absolute nut.
Favorite quote of the night:
Joe: (while looking into his candy bucket) It's not full yet. Let's keep going, Dad.
