Tonight as my daughter and I were cleaning up after dinner and loading up the dishwasher she asked if she could add the soap to it. This wasn't anything she had ever done or even asked to do, no big deal, I just walked her through the process. After closing the door and starting up the dishwasher she turned to me and said, "Wow, Mom! Thanks for showing me how to be a mom."
Boy, if I'd only known that is all it would have taken I would've never done the whole pregnancy and labor thing. Twice.

That's so funny! Sometimes I feel like my primary job description as a mom is "human dishwasher". I'm sure she doesn't really think that's all there is to being a mom...

The other night, at dinner, my four year old son wasn't eating his dinner. His dad told him if he wanted to go swimming after dinner he had to eat. Nothing. Finally, his 16 year old sister leaned over the table and said, "Do you want to go swimming with me?" He said yes. She said, "Then you have to take a bite." Each time he took a bite, she'd smile at me and say, "I'm going to be such a good mom."
Okay, honey. You're right, that's all there is to it!

DUDE POST A WARNING! I was drinking when I read that and spit all over my keyboard. Yikes.
That was too funny.
Although, on the other hand, it was sincere and very sweet. I hope you gave her a big kiss. :)
