Do you know how to get the effective carb count of an item off of the nutrition label? Simple.
When counting carbs you can deduct the grams of dietary fiber from the total carbohydrate grams to get the net carb count.
Example:
19g Total Carbohydrate
-14g Dietary Fiber
___
5g (ECC)EFFECTIVE CARB COUNT - THIS IS WHAT COUNTS!

I'm sorry, did I not mention that when counting carbs in donuts the sugar and carbs cancel each other out?
